I went to see Kaz at Summerfield Dental Practice for a second opinion on proposed treatment. I get really anxious going to the dentist and everybody there put me at ease immediately. Kaz himself was so reassuring and knowledgeable about the best course of action for me going forward. Would not hesitate to recommend and I will definitely go there for all treatment in the future.

If you’re looking for the best implant specialist, trust me, I found him!This is a bit of a long one, but I wish I had read a review like this to be able to find Pav easier, so bear with me!I needed quite a bit of work on my teeth, so it was imperative that I found the right person.I’d previously searched implant specialists in Dubai and then across London, but continuously felt hesitant about going ahead with anyone. Often people told me the work wouldn’t be aesthetically pleasing, they couldn’t do it or I felt they were more interested in selling me the procedure than actually getting results.I finally found Pav through a friend and by a stroke of luck! Before Kaz took over, the practitioner I saw at first managed a four tooth bridge of my front teeth that two other dentists said was not possible. On his retirement I now go to Kaz who is a gentle operator and I have no qualms about being in his care.

Fillings

At Summerfield Dental Practice we provide fillings as part of our range of general dentistry treatments.

What is a filling?

A filling is used to repair any teeth damaged by decay. Often referred to as cavities, tooth decay can lead to holes in your teeth and may well continue to grow, getting larger over time.

How do I know if I need a filling?

Cavities can affect anyone, but a few signs you might be in need of a filling are persistent toothache, sensitivity to hot and cold food and beverages, and pain when you bite down. You might even begin to notice food getting trapped in the damaged tooth. Regular check-ups will also help keep an eye on whether or not you need a filling.

What are fillings made of?

Most fillings are made of either a composite or amalgam material. Amalgam fillings are the more traditional silver-appearing fillings, made up of an amalgam of silver, copper, and tin. These fillings are extremely hardwearing and can last for up to 40 years.

Composite fillings are designed to match the shade of the natural tooth as closely as possible. These filings are made of a composite plastic resin and most last for between 3 and 10 years. Another option is porcelain fillings.
