What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® has been offering patients an alternative to traditional braces since 1999. Invisalign® clear aligners are made from a patented material called SmartTrack®, while every patient also benefits from their ClinCheck® 3D treatment plan.

How does it work?

Your team here at Summerfield Dental Practice will work out a treatment plan that it is unique to you and your needs. First of all, an impression of your teeth will be taken, this will then be digitised, and a 3D image of your teeth will be created.

Your unique treatment timeline will then be drawn up according to how we expect your teeth movements to progress. Once you’ve received your aligners, you can expect to wear each set for roughly two weeks, before progressing to the next set.

You should expect the whole process to take between 6-18 months and involve anywhere between 18 and 36 uniquely different sets of aligners.

How will Invisalign® affect my day-to-day life?

Invisalign® is a much more discreet alternative to traditional braces, but you should expect to wear them day and night in order to achieve the results you desire. You can take them off for eating, brushing, and flossing.

Is Invisalign® painful?

While Invisalign® isn’t known for being painful, you should expect to experience some level of discomfort when first wearing a new set of aligners.
